Sebastian Engelhardt graduated in 2006 from the University of Freiburg i.Br. in Germany and qualified with the title “Dr. med. dent” in 2007. He obtained his Masters in Periodontology and Implant Therapy in 2013 and has been awarded as a Specialist in Periodontology in 2015 by the European Dental Association.
Moving to Switzerland in 2010, he provided general dentistry and periodontal treatments at several different clinics and in 2016 joined Bénédict Bättig after the opening of Cabinet Dentaire du Seujet. Owing to the fact that healthy gums are the basis for healthy teeth and a healthy life he focuses on periodontal treatments as well as oral surgery and dental implants. He is a member of the SSO, Swiss Society of Periodontology SSP and the International Team of Implantology ITI, having recently been appointed the Director of an ITI Study Club in Geneva.
Sebastian’s goal is to provide complete oral restoration solutions when possible, addressing gum problems first before complex dental work, usually by non-surgical treatment and appropriate hygiene measures or sometimes by surgical options such as regeneration of lost bone or gum. Cosmetic issues such as gum recession or gummy smile lines can also be treated, for example via microsurgical gum grafts. He is also responsible for the dental implant treatments in the practice for those patients who have missing teeth and require replacements, either single or multiple teeth.
Sebastian has a friendly, caring and open approach, ensuring that patients fully understand all their periodontal conditions as well as their treatment options. He speaks fluent French and English, as well as his native German.
